Get to know Hometime’s leaders
Our Executive Leadership Team draws a wealth of experience from the world of property, travel and hospitality guiding our teams on everything from Marketing to Customer Experience, and People & Culture to Finance. We’re proud to have built our property management system backed by our in-house Product, Engineering and Design team.
Billy Crock
After many years spent working in engineering, project management and commercial operations, Billy founded Hometime with Dave Thompson after the pair had similar experiences renting out their homes while on holiday. Billy is our CEO and his vision, patience and strategic thinking continue to guide Hometime to success. In his spare time, you’ll find Billy kicking back in a 4WD at the dunes with his wife and three young kids helping to inspire their love of adventure and family time as they explore up and down the Queensland coast.
Dave Thompson
After a decade in corporate finance roles, Dave founded Hometime with Billy after they realised the opportunity for better short-term rental management while renting their houses out. Dave is a leading voice supporting Billy, our leadership team and the Board of Directors to accelerate our sustained future ambitions and growth. When he’s not learning about the latest moves in investments, Dave is a keen runner. However, his ideal way to spend his downtime is with his young son and wife on a chilled weekend away with some good coffee.
Alvan Aiau Yong
Alvan is our Chief Operating Officer and leads our operations covering some extensive ground across our 40+ strong network of local hosts and our collections of market-leading operators. He joined Hometime from PayCargo and Airbnb bringing a wealth of experience to his role. Alvan loves to learn and simplify complex problems. When he’s not doing that, he loves anything competitive, especially sports, karaoke and the great outdoors.
Jonathan Donde
Jon has spent more than 15 years in business advisory roles in commercial and professional services in Australia, the UK and Singapore. He quickly became a steadfast leader for all our teams at Hometime - not just Finance. Jon oversees business acquisitions, finance, analytics and business strategy working closely with Billy, Dave and the Board. Based in Sydney, Jon spends his weekends with his wife, daughter and dog often exploring somewhere new on the east coast of NSW.
Maya Wannan
Maya is our Head of People & Culture and the biggest cheerleader of our distributed teams. With more than 20 years of experience in human resources and people capabilities, Maya helps shape our future workforce guiding us on what we need to go beyond anything we’ve achieved before. Maya is the ultimate encourager, nurturer and adviser. When she’s not looking after us, she’s spending time with her family embarking on all the kids’ weekend sports and even the odd trip to Thredbo for some ski action.
Chris Carpio
Chris is our Chief Technology Officer and is based in Manila. He leads our 20+ strong team of product managers, engineers, and product designers. He has an extensive background working with startups and enterprises in Asia Pacific and the US and, thanks to more than 25 years of business experience, Chris lends his voice to our leadership team in a way that goes beyond technology. In his spare time, Chris loves to travel, often discovering the best scuba diving sites in the world.
